I bought these for my daughter who struggles with fine motor skills, and the spring mechanism makes cutting so much easier for her. It's nice that I can turn off the spring when I need to use them myself.

My hands cramp up easily, and the spring on these makes cutting through fabric so much smoother. I like that you can switch it off and just use them like regular scissors when you don't need the assist.

I was skeptical about the spring at first, but being able to switch it off and use them like normal scissors sold me. The spring really does make each cut easier on my thumb.
